Parker Animal and Bird Clinic has an outstanding group of veterinarians whose sole purpose is caring for your pets!

Dr. Charles Blonien, Jr.

Dr. Charles Blonien, Jr.

Oklahoma State University 1986

Dr Chuck Blonien began his career in the heart of Dallas in an area where finding affordable veterinary care for animals was sorely needed. So when he decided to open his own practice in January 1992 in Plano, he carried with him the reminder that people care, but that cost was a factor in providing that care. Since then, through providing excellent medical care for his client’s pets, Parker Animal & Bird Clinic has become one of the best in the area. Five additional veterinarians and over 30 support staff have continued to maintain a welcoming atmosphere and service beyond compare.

Dr B., as he is fondly referred to, grew up with your typical pets, dogs and cats, but also some very unusual ones. There was the pet cougar, Cougie, and some venomous snakes that set him on the course for exotic pets and veterinary medicine. He also enjoys orthopedic cases, and has performed thousands of orthopedic surgeries from broken limbs to luxating patellas, FHO’s, and many others.

In his spare time he enjoys his family, his wife Katie, and their children and grandchildren. He also is an avid fisherman and takes an annual vacation to Colorado for elk hunting. They have one dog, Lady, a lab mix.

Dr. David Blonien

Dr. David Blonien

Texas A&M 2017

Dr. David Blonien, son of Dr. Charles Blonien, has been around Parker Animal and Bird Clinic since he was a child. Growing up with a father who is a veterinarian fostered an early love for animals. David worked during some summers in high school and college at the clinic as kennel and technician staff. He attended Texas A&M (whoop!) and received a BS in Biomedical Science in 2013, and his DVM degree in 2017. Spending 8 years in Aggieland- he grew to love the campus and people. David was a Fish Camp counselor for the extended orientation program for 4 years. He helped new students get their bearings as a new college student and helped get them on track for a successful college career.

David enjoys most anything outdoors in his free time including gardening, camping, and fishing. David also enjoys scifi/fantasy TV, movies, and books, and playing videogames. He has one cat at home named Oreo.

David’s special interests include feline medicine, nutrition, dermatology, and internal medicine.

Dr. Bethany Whetstone

Dr. Bethany Whetstone, DVM
Texas A&M University, 2005

Dr Whetstone started her career at Parker Animal & Bird Clinic in June 2005. Growing up, she was always drawn to watching nature shows on television. She attempted to emulate them by bringing home tarantulas, lizards, and whatever else she could sneak in past her mother. One memory in particular left a lasting impression; after seeing a kitten get hit by a car, she found out what it meant to provide veterinary care. Of course, her family was very supportive and encouraging in her future towards veterinary medicine. And her husband, Carlo has a big heart for anything she brings home now!

Dr W. truly loves building relationships with her clients and their pets. Coming to work is a joy because every day is different. One of the areas of veterinary medicine she has discovered a passion and skill for is bladder stone surgeries. So much relief for everyone!

When she is not at work, she loves food, music, live shows, travel and scuba diving. She and Carlo currently have a few cats that call their house home.

Dr. Jacob Mireles

Dr. Jacob Mireles, DVM
Texas A&M Graduate, 2006

Dr. Mireles joined Parker Animal & Bird Clinic in July, 2011. He became a veterinarian because of the diversity in medicine that being a veterinarian covers. As a veterinarian, he can be the primary physician, surgeon, and dentist all in one day! He also found the ability to practice all three at PABC. Internal Medicine and soft tissue surgery are the two aspects of medicine he enjoys most. He also appreciates and enjoys the relationships he is able to build with his clients and their pets. Dr. Mireles' primary patients are dogs and cats.

When Jacob has a little spare time for his hobbies he enjoys golfing, fishing and is a Texas Aggie Football fan.
What motivates Dr. Mireles to do all that he does? Why his family of course. He and his wife, Patty have three girls.

Dr. Francesca Hoffpauir

Dr. Francesca Hoffpauir, DVM
Oklahoma State University, 2014

Dr. Hoffpauir began at Parker Animal & Bird Clinic in July, 2014. She has loved animals since she was a young girl in elementary school. At the age of 13 she began volunteering at the Richardson Animal Shelter. At 17, she was ready for a step up and wanted to work where she could be with animals, so she landed a job at Parker Animal & Bird Clinic. She went from kennel staff to technician and then off to college. Now here she is, back as one of our docs! Her motivation to be a vet comes from her love of animals and her strong desire to help them feel better. She especially loves the work she does with the pocket pets and other exotics.

When she is not at work she and her husband, Tom, enjoy hanging out with family and friends, go hiking and catching a movie. They have two cats, three mutts, Buddy, Bones and Leia, and a rabbit.

Some pets experience stress & anxiety when they come to the veterinarian's office, especially if their visit is due to illness or injury. The doctors at Parker Animal & Bird Clinic provide compassionate treatment with a gentle and understanding touch.

Call us today to schedule an appointment for your furry friend. We can’t wait to meet him or her…oh, and you too!
